The African Statistical Yearbook (ASYB) 2023 is the fourteenth edition jointly produced by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). This collaborative publication reflects the strong synergy between the three institutions to harmonize statistical production and reduce the data reporting burden on African countries. Covering key economic and social indicators from 2013 to 2023, the Yearbook draws primarily on data from National Statistical Offices (NSOs), complemented by international sources where necessary. All country profiles were validated in close coordination with member states to ensure accuracy and consistency. The ASYB serves as a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, and development partners by providing reliable and comparable statistics in one comprehensive volume. The three institutions remain committed to strengthening national statistical systems and continuing the joint production of this essential annual publication.
