The African Union Institute for Statistics (STATAFRIC) is pleased to announce the release of KeyStats 2023, a comprehensive statistical yearbook on Africa’s integration process.
This edition provides an overview of the eight Regional Economic Communities (RECs): AMU, CEN-SAD, COMESA, EAC, ECCAS, ECOWAS, IGAD, and SADC. Data are presented across four main sectors:
- Real sector (GDP, inflation, agriculture)
- Government finance (revenue, expenditure, fiscal balance)
- Monetary and financial sector (money supply, credit, interest rates)
- External sector (trade, balance of payments, reserves, debt)
The statistics are compiled from National Statistics Offices, Central Banks, Regional Economic Communities, the World Bank, the IMF, and the African Statistical Yearbook.
KeyStats serves as a reference tool for policymakers, researchers, and data users, supporting informed decision-making to accelerate and consolidate Africa’s integration agenda.
